This is the month of Ramzan/Ramadan all around the world. It is a very important month for the Muslims everywhere. Fasting from sunrise till sunset and praying to Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful – that is the significant part of this auspicious month.
This month ends with a joyous celebration of Eid-Ul-Fitr. As you all must know the day isn’t far away. So we have just a few weeks to check out the best part of this month, especially for all the foodies out there.
Major restaurants like Arsalan and Aminia in Kolkata serve a special dish called Haleem. Haleem is an integral part of the Iftaar when everyone breaks their fast at sunset. Trust me, it’s an absolute delicacy. It is made with lentils and wheat with chicken/mutton/beef. The recipe takes hours as it is slow cooked on low heat.
You may find different recipes online that suits your palette. But if you are somewhat lazy like me and wish to bypass the heavy lifting just go to one of the restaurants mentioned above and grab a bowl of delicious haleem.
IMPORTANT: Haleem is usually available in the afternoon between 4pm to 7pm. It will be available there a day before Eid-Ul-Fitr.
So hurry up!!! And don’t forget to comment your feedbacks if this post makes it a bit of a better life for you.
